Within the framework of celebrating academic successes and legal excellence, the team of the College of Law at the University of Baghdad met with the President of the State Council (Dr. Karim Khasbak), who expressed his great pride in this outstanding achievement achieved by the team in the international commercial arbitration competition, praising the efforts made by students and academic supervisors.
During the meeting, the Premier praised the exceptional performance of the team, noting that their qualification to the final rounds among 154 international teams is a great achievement that reflects the high scientific and skill level of the students at the College of Law – University of Baghdad. He then praised the active role of academic supervisors in developing students’ skills in the field of international commercial arbitration, stressing that this remarkable success reflects the student’s ability to apply legal concepts in an international competitive environment.
The Premier stressed that the team’s excellence in this international competition reflects Iraq’s scientific and legal status and highlights the ability of Iraqi youth to compete and excel in global legal forums. He pointed out that this success not only reflects the team’s skills in arbitration but also enhances the image of the College of Law as a leading educational institution capable of preparing legal cadres that keep pace with global developments in the legal and arbitration field.
It is noteworthy that Dr. Karim Khasbak, President of the State Council, is one of the graduates of the College of Law – University of Baghdad from which he graduated in the academic year 1990-1991, and this meeting embodies the continuity of legal giving between different generations of graduates of the college, and its role in preparing prominent legal leaders in Iraq.
This meeting achieves one of the sustainable development goals represented by the sixteenth goal, which calls for peace, justice, and strong institutions.
