The College of Mass Communication at the University of Baghdad concluded a specialized training program for spokespersons of state ministries, organized in cooperation with the Government Communication Team in the Prime Minister’s Office, which extended over two days, aimed at developing the capabilities of official spokespersons in the fields of modern media, crisis management, and effective communication with the public.
The first day witnessed an official opening in the presence of the President of the University of Baghdad, Prof. Dr. Bahaa Ibraheem Ansaf, who stressed in his speech the importance of the media in shaping public awareness and consolidating public confidence in government institutions, and the Dean of the College of Mass Communication, Prof. Dr. Ammar Taher Muhammad, spoke about the college’s role in preparing media cadres capable of facing the challenges of the times, pointing to the importance of partnerships with specialized government teams, such as the government communication team.
The training program aims to develop the skills of official spokespersons, allowing them to perform their roles efficiently and professionally, and to achieve effective communication with the public that consolidates citizens’ confidence in state institutions.
The program also reflects the vision of the College of Mass Communication at the University of Baghdad in integrating with state institutions and improving the level of performance of the media offices of state ministries, through the integration of academic knowledge and practical application. This cooperation also confirms the leading role of the College of Mass Communication in preparing media leaders capable of keeping pace with challenges and providing qualitative solutions that keep pace with developments in the local and international media scene.
The program culminated in a closing ceremony that witnessed the distribution of certificates of participation to the trainees by the Assistant President of the University of Baghdad for Scientific Affairs, Prof. Dr. Suhail Najm Abdullah, and the Dean of the College of Mass Communication. The ceremony also included an introductory tour for the participants of the college’s facilities, including studios and training laboratories, which represent an advanced model for an educational environment that keeps pace with the latest technologies in the field of media.
