The Assistant President of the University of Baghdad for Administrative Affairs, Assistant Professor Dr. Amir Faisal Abdul Amir, headed an academic delegation during his visit to the Eastern Mediterranean University in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, which included the Head of the Civil Engineering Department at the College of Engineering, Prof. Dr. Amjad Hamad Khalil, and one of the teachers of the Department of Environmental Engineering, Assistant Professor Dr. Haider Muhammad Abdul Hamid.

The visit aimed to strengthen the bonds of cooperation between the two universities and exchange ideas and experiences in the corresponding communities in the disciplines of (engineering, medicine, pharmacy, and science).

The visit discussed the possibility of establishing joint research projects between the University of the Eastern Mediterranean and the University of Baghdad in the topics of renewable energy, sustainable development, artificial intelligence and electric cars, and the visit included discussing ways to enhance academic and scientific cooperation, discussing opportunities for the exchange of students and professors, exchanging experiences between researchers in different disciplines, as well as the possibility of signing joint cooperation agreements and supporting centers of creativity and excellence. The Assistant President of the University of Baghdad also invited Cypriot students to benefit from the Study in Iraq program launched by Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research due to the good academic reputation enjoyed by the University of Baghdad.

The visit of the delegation of the University of Baghdad to a number of colleges and departments of the Eastern Mediterranean University included joint meetings between the delegation of the University of Baghdad and the President of the Eastern Mediterranean University, Prof. Dr. Hassan Kilij and his assistants and a number of deans and directors of departments at the university, and at the end of the visit, commemorative shields were exchanged to confirm the fruitful scientific partnership in the service of the educational process in the two friendly countries.
