Developing Friendship with Korea
The university was and is still moving and going on according to the scientific planned strategies , so as to develop all sectors and activities of education within the flow that is less than its counterpart in the application and work and to keep up with what is happening from the remarkable global progress , and perhaps the cultural relations enjoyed by the university was and still reaping the benefits of what was established by the university to paint modern picture in line with the global progress which witnesses a tremendous amount of scientific developments and academic improvements without interruption.
In order to activate the friendships and cultural relations that the university seeks to develop them , Prof. Dr. Alaa’ Abdulhussein, president of the University of Baghdad received the Korean delegation to develop Iraqi Korean friendship where the delegation included President of the Iraqi Korean friendship association , with a delegation from the Interational Hakeem Foundation and Chairman of the Education Committee of the Supreme Islamic Council Dr. Rahif Nasser and Ms. Laila al-Khafaji, a member of the Iraqi parliament, “the first session,” with a group of Iraqi promising young people . Prof. Dr. Mohi Kadhem Wannas Al- Janabi, Dean of the college of Medicine, Professor Abdulkareem Mounir, Director of the Office of President of the University, and Prof. Dr. Abdul Basset Salman website editor all attended the meeting .
The meeting resulted to agree on development program for doctors and university professors in the college of Medicine and Educational Baghdad Hospital in medicine city , and out of the typical university slogan “the university in service of the society,” where Dr. Alaa’ Abdulhussein President of the University was keen to make the program dedicated to the professors of the University of Baghdad and its hospitals, in order to apply the experience in favor of the Iraqi society, where the university will host ten experts, professors from Korean universitiest for a whole month, so as to develop scientific laboratories, hospitals, and equipped with the latest international medical technology . The President of the University has made it clear and precise the requirements and needs of the university’s expertise , technology and modern medical equipment, in agreement with the colleges of medicine and Al-Kindi to update techniques , treatments , scientific methods and medical references and sources, and then to keep up with all of the international developments in the field of medicine where the university president agreed that the programs should be objective and of a clear goal to achieve change and development, after having reviewed more special data of the university especially in the fields of medicine and engineering.The Korean delegation expressed its desire and readiness to develop all relations with the University of Baghdad.The Dean of the college Dr. Mohi has explained more details about the mechanism of implementing development and cultural programs ties with Korean universities, explaining the importance of transferring international advanced experiences to the University of Baghdad.The university president suggested preparing a training and development program to be applied with Korean universities and in coordination with the Association of Iraqi Korean Friendship , to achieve workshops and memorandums of joint work.Prof. Dr. Bahaa’ Toma Jiyad ,administrative assistant of the president attended the meeting. At the end of the meeting the Korean delegation presented a manuscript of the Korean wisdom written in Korean language as a gift to the University of Baghdad, then memorial photos were taken to express the depth of friendship.
