Prof. Dr. Munir Hamid al-Saadi, rector of the University of Baghdad has recently visited the Iraqi Police College and was received by the dean of the college, the Major General Sabah Hoshi and his assistant, Major General Ali Madi, as well as a number of the advanced staff. Dr. Munir al-Saadi praised the security and supportive role of this prestigious college and its graduates of officers who became messengers of safety to maintain our community peace, For his part, the General Sabah Hoshi praised the role of the University of Baghdad and its faculty members in providing the national security institutions in Iraq with scientific expertise through the development of courses and lectures delivered by university professors at the college, as well as other initiatives organized by the university for the members of the national security forces.
The two sides discussed the academic requirements at the Police College and the possibility of signing a twinning project with the University of Baghdad, as well as reaching at an agreement to sign a joint memorandum of understanding between them, in the coming days, to hone the skills of the students of the Police College in addition to participating in scientific workshops and training courses held by both parties. The rector also welcomed such undertakings and confirmed the readiness of the university to cooperate in various fields, such as criminal evidence in cooperation with the college of law, especially in the fields of civil and criminal law, the possibility of cooperation with the college of medicine to improve the investigations of forensic medicine, in addition to holding intensive courses on psychology, management, human rights and other subjects, inviting the dean of the Iraqi Police College to visit our university to learn about its academic and scientific possibilities, faculties, scientific institutes and research centers, in addition to its well-known advisory centers. Then Prof. Dr. Munir Hamid al-Saadi, accompanied by the Major General Sabah Hoshi, made a tour among the college’s corridors, including the exam and study halls, firearm training halls, an outdoor shooting range and agreed to send a specialized team from the department of computer engineering to develop a virtual firearm training hall at the college according to the latest international criteria. In conjunction with the visit, the students of the Iraqi Police College have organized a military parade with the tunes of the military musical choir in preparation for the graduation of a number of its elite students.
