The college of political sciences at the University of Baghdad held the first annual international scientific conference entitled “Systematic and cognitive developments in political sciences” in cooperation with the Baghdad International Center for Studies and Peacebuilding, in the presence of Prof. Dr. Munir Hamid al-Saadi, the rector of the University of Baghdad.

The aim of the conference is to bring together researchers, scientists and public figures to share their experiences, new ideas and research outputs in all aspects of political sciences and to discuss scientific challenges that have been faced as well as the solutions adopted in this regard, the latest scientific developments that might contribute to enhancing the decision makers in the country. The conference also addressed important areas, including the status of political sciences compared to other social sciences, curricula, qualitative and quantitative studies and the development of epistemological structure in this regard. It is noteworthy that the agenda of the conference included the submission of a number of research papers in strategic sciences.
