The Student Activities Department at Baghdad University organized a cultural exhibition on the occasion of the Arbaeen pilgrimage of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him), in the presence of the University’s Assistant President for Administrative Affairs, Prof.Dr. Karim Hassan Alwan, and with the participation of the advisor to the Holy Hussaini Shrine, Dr. Nadheer Al-Hindawi.
The organization of this exhibition comes as part of the preparations for participating in the 9th International Conference on the Arbaeen pilgrimage, which is scheduled to be held in the holy city of Karbala. The exhibition showcased a collection of artistic and cultural works that embody the meanings of sacrifice and redemption represented by Imam Hussein (peace be upon him).
In a speech during the opening, the Assistant President for Administrative Affairs, emphasized that organizing such events at the university aims to shed light on the human and spiritual dimensions of the Arbaeen pilgrimage, as well as to instill the values and principles for which Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) sacrificed his life into the hearts of students and the community. He pointed out that the university seeks, through these activities, to enhance awareness of cultural and religious issues.
In turn , Dr. Ali Sadiq, Director of the Student Activities Department, emphasized the important role that Iraqi universities play in supporting cultural and religious initiatives, calling for the continued organization of exhibitions and seminars that contribute to educating students and highlighting societal issues from a scientific and academic perspective.
The exhibition represented a significant step in promoting the cultural and human spirit among young people and opened new horizons for cooperation between academic institutions and the holy shrines in Iraq.
