The College of Islamic Sciences at the University of Baghdad organized two workshops for graduate students presented by Dr. Huda Abbas Qanbar, the first on “The Effect of Drugs, Their Risks, and Ways to Prevent”, and the second on “Identifying the Scopus Platform”, in the presence of a group of graduate students.

The first workshop aimed to raise awareness of the harms of drugs, especially with the increase in drug abuse among young people, while the second focused on the importance of the Scopus platform for scientific publishing.

The two workshops dealt with various axes, the first dealt with the concept of drugs, their types, causes of abuse, and statistics of their spread, in addition to the impact and dangers of drugs on the individual and society and ways to prevent them, while the second dealt with identifying and registering on the Scopus platform, specifications for selecting scientific journals indexed in Scopus, types of scientific publishing, how to know predatory and fake journals, correspondents with scientific journals, following up on indexing research within the Scopus platform.

This workshop achieves one of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the third goal, which calls for ensuring healthy lives and promoting well-being for all at all ages.
