The College of Islamic Sciences at the University of Baghdad held a workshop titled “Raising Awareness of the Dangers of Drug Abuse”, attended by a group of professors, researchers, and students. The event aimed to educate participants about the serious risks of drug abuse and its impact on individuals and society.

During the session, experts discussed the causes and consequences of drug addiction, the social and psychological effects on youth, and the legal and religious perspectives on drug abuse. The role of educational institutions, families, and communities in preventing drug addiction was also emphasized.

The activity highlighted the importance of early intervention, awareness campaigns, and rehabilitation programs to combat drug abuse effectively. It also stressed the need for collaboration between universities, health institutions, and law enforcement to develop comprehensive strategies for prevention and treatment.

At the conclusion of the workshop, participants recommended strengthening anti-drug laws, increasing public awareness initiatives, and integrating drug prevention education into academic curricula to help protect future generations from this growing threat.
