The Higher Institute for Accounting and Financial Studies at the University of Baghdad organized a training course titled “The Unified Accounting System According to International Accounting and Financial Reporting Standards”. This course was part of the core training sessions for the General Company for Iraqi Ports and was led by a distinguished group of faculty members from the institute, under the sponsorship of the Dean of the Institute, Assist.Prof.Dr. Ali Mohammed Thjeel Al-Maamouri, a certified public accountant.

The workshop covered several key topics, including investments, disclosure of shares in other entities, mergers, and consolidation of operations. It also addressed the effects of changes in foreign exchange rates, as well as their impact on translating financial statements, accounting policies, changes in accounting estimates, and errors.

At the conclusion of the course, the Dean of the Institute presented certificates of appreciation to the participants and expressed the institute’s readiness to foster scientific and professional cooperation, aiming to maximize the benefits from the available expertise at the General Company for Iraqi Ports.
