King Khalid University in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in collaboration with the Association of Arab Universities, organized a recognition ceremony honoring distinguished Arab universities in the 2024 Arab University Rankings. The event was attended by the President of the University of Baghdad, Prof.Dr. Bahaa Ibraheem Ansaf, alongside prominent academic institutions and university presidents from across the Arab world. This event serves as an acknowledgment of the outstanding academic and research efforts made by Arab universities and aims to foster excellence in higher education and scientific research.
Coinciding with the recognition ceremony, King Khalid University launched the “Future Directions” Forum under the theme “Universities and Sustainable Development.” The forum aims to discuss the role of universities in achieving sustainable development goals and to facilitate the exchange of expertise among Arab universities in this domain. The event brings together a distinguished group of experts, academics, and decision-makers from various Arab countries to deliberate on strategic themes that contribute to the advancement of higher education and the promotion of social and developmental partnerships.
This event serves as a platform for collaboration among Arab universities, allowing for the exchange of successful experiences, strengthening the role of universities, and motivating them to continue their efforts in advancing higher education, scientific research, and sustainable development in Arab societies.
It is noteworthy that the University of Baghdad ranked first nationally and 18th among 180 Arab universities featured in the ranking. This achievement reflects the university’s well-structured strategy for ranking enhancement, which required the provision of precise and specialized data.
