The Ibn Sina Unit, in collaboration with the Continuing Education Unit at the Faculty of Political Science, University of Baghdad, held a scientific lecture titled “Drugs and Society: Mutual Challenges,”delivered by Dr. Iyad Malik Abdulmajid, a faculty member.

The lecture aimed to raise awareness among students about the phenomenon of drugs and addiction, which have become widespread issues affecting society, and to guide parents on how to effectively interact with and support their children in order to protect them from this issue.

The lecture addressed the phenomenon of drug use that has recently spread in Iraqi society, discussing its types and the risks it poses to the public health of individuals and society. It also highlighted the prohibition of drug use in Islamic law, outlining the main causes of the spread of this phenomenon and analyzing the reasons behind its prevalence at both the individual and social levels. The lecture emphasized the importance of addressing addiction issues, reducing the spread of the phenomenon, and safeguarding society from its dangers.
