Prof. Dr. Ali Abdul Amir Sajit, Dean of the College of Arts at the University of Baghdad, received the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain, Mrs. Alicia Rico Pérez del Polcar, during her official visit to the college, which came with the aim of reviewing the progress of the Spanish language teaching process in the English Department.
Alicia presented several proposals and ideas aimed at enhancing scientific and academic cooperation between the College of Arts at the University of Baghdad and its counterparts from Spanish universities, and these ideas were discussed with the ambassador and the dean of the college, with a focus on exchanging scientific experiences and developing curricula in a way that contributes to enriching students’ knowledge and acquiring new skills.
For her part, the Ambassador expressed her happiness to meet the Dean and a number of professors of the English Department, and expressed her thanks and gratitude to Ms. Hanan Younis Mohammed, a teacher in the English Department, in appreciation of her outstanding efforts in teaching Spanish and organizing a series of events presented by students at various levels in Spanish.
At the end of the visit, Ambassador Alicia Rico expressed her happiness with this fruitful meeting, stressing her aspiration to enhance joint cooperation between the two sides, and promised to repeat the visit in the future to achieve more success in the field of teaching Spanish and other disciplines in the college.
