The College of Dentistry at the University of Baghdad held a ceremony for the recitation of the Medical Oath by the graduates of the 67th cohort for the academic year 2023-2024, under the slogan “The Cycle of Knowledge and Construction.” The ceremony was attended by Prof. Dr. Yasar Ahmed Al-Sudani, Advisor to the Prime Minister, Dr. Ali Khorsheed, Director of the Department of Oral and Dental Health at the Ministry of Health, and several Deans of Medical Colleges.
Prof. Dr. Ameen Abd Al-Hassan Mana Al-Alwani, Dean of the College of Medicine, represented Prof. Dr. Bahaa Ibraheem Ansef, President of the University of Baghdad, and delivered a speech urging the students to adhere to the oath and its meanings, emphasizing the importance of practicing dentistry as a sacred and noble profession and maintaining the reputation of the University of Baghdad and the prestigious standing of the College of Dentistry, which has achieved high rankings in global academic rankings.
In a speech delivered by the Dean of the College of Dentistry, Prof. Dr. Raghd Abdul Razzaq Al-Hashemi, she spoke about the value of knowledge as a means of advancement and development, the importance of building as a path to strengthening society and achieving progress, and the promising role of dentistry graduates in carrying the banner of science and innovation to provide exceptional medical services that meet societal needs.
The ceremony concluded with the honoring of several distinguished individuals, who were awarded plaques in recognition of their efforts in supporting and developing the College of Dentistry.
