The National Center for Population and Demographic Studies at the University of Baghdad held a workshop titled “Modern Census Techniques and Population Data Analysis,” presented by Associate Prof.Dr. Basheer Faisal Muhammad, Head of the Analytical Techniques Department.
The event aimed to enhance the participants’ skills in using the latest techniques and advanced software for collecting and analyzing population data.
The activity covered the importance of accurate population data in planning and development, with a focus on urban planning to determine the needs for services such as education, healthcare, and housing, as well as economic planning to assess the workforce and demand for goods and services. It also addressed monitoring population growth trends and developing appropriate policies. Furthermore, the workshop highlighted the importance of equitable resource distribution based on accurate data.
The workshop received significant engagement from the participants, who expressed their appreciation for the valuable information and practical methods shared, which contribute to effectively addressing population and developmental challenges.
