The President of the University of Baghdad, Prof. Dr. Bahaa Ibraheem Ansaf, revealed the imminent opening of the Japanese Language Department within the College of Languages, in a step aimed at enhancing cultural and scientific exchange between Iraq and Japan and providing a unique academic specialization that contributes to meeting the requirements of the growing labor market.

During his academic visit to the headquarters of the Japan Scientific Foundation, which specializes in Japanese studies and language, the President of the University added that the opening of this department comes in response to the growing interest in the Japanese language and culture, as well as strengthening cooperation with Japanese educational and cultural institutions.

The President of the University pointed out that the opening of the Japanese Language Department will be in cooperation with the Japan Scientific Foundation, which has supported the activities of the University of Baghdad over the past twenty years in the field of research fellowships, conferences, and student training.

He pointed out that the university seeks to provide modern curricula and specialized college members to secure educational quality in line with international academic standards, and pointed out that this step will contribute to expanding the horizons of partnership between Iraq and Japan, and support efforts to enhance cultural dialogue between the two countries.
