In a new scientific achievement that reflects the leadership of Iraq in academic research, the Department of Chemistry at the College of Science, the College of Science for Women, and the College of Education for Pure Sciences / Ibn Al-Haytham, at the University of Baghdad, have ranked fifth in the Arab world in the Scopus database for the field of Chemistry. This makes the university the only institution in Iraq among the top 10 Arab universities in this field.
This milestone strengthens the position of the University of Baghdad in the field of chemistry research in Iraq and the Arab region, where it excelled with its outstanding performance in chemistry by publishing 753 high-quality collaborative scientific papers, surpassing many prestigious universities.
The President of the University of Baghdad, Prof.Dr. Bahaa Ibraheem Ansaf, pledged to continue supporting the university’s departments in scientific research and to provide all types of support to advance further progress in global rankings and scientific forums.
The university administration also emphasized that this achievement reflects the tremendous efforts made by faculty members, researchers, and students within the university’s departments, who are working diligently to achieve excellence in academic research and innovation.
This ranking represents an international recognition of the leading role played by the university in the development of sciences and the production of research that serves society and contributes to scientific progress.
