The Market Research and Consumer Protection Center held the workshop tagged (Beauty Centers Spread in the City of Baghdad Between Community Turnout and Supposed Control) in the hall of the Higher Institute for Accounting and Financial Studies at the University of Baghdad.
The workshop aimed to shed light on the phenomenon of the spread of beauty centers, which has become common in most cities of Iraq and has a wide promotion on social media platforms and reduce this phenomenon, which may be managed by people who are not medically specialized, which causes health problems for the visitors of these centers, which may not be licensed by the regulatory bodies.
The workshop included a number of scientific lectures, including a lecture entitled (Does Cosmetology Rebuild or Destroy Trust?) delivered by the Director of the Swedish Center for Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy in Baghdad, Mrs. Rasha Muhannad, a specialist, and a lecture on the role of health control in detecting barbershops that practice the work of beauty centers) by Dr. Esraa Ali from the Department of Health Control / Department of Public Health / Ministry of Health, as well as a lecture on how the laser interacts with tissues and what are the risks of unsafe use of the laser delivered by the Assistant Dean of the Laser Institute For postgraduate studies at the university, Dr. Jawad Abdul Kazem Hassan, in addition to a lecture entitled (Safety and Security Requirements in Beauty Centers) delivered by Mrs. Asmaa Muhammad Jawad from the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs / National Center for Occupational Health and Safety with her lecture tagged.
The workshop concluded with a lecture entitled (Beauty Centers… Risks and Treatments), which was prepared by a research team from the Market Research Center under Administrative Order No. 1401 on 17/12/2024 and delivered by (Dr. Huda Jaber Hussein), a teacher at the Center.
Through the lectures adopted by the researchers, the workshop reached a set of recommendations, which will be unified and prepared by the Market Research Center and submitted to the relevant authorities to represent a future vision for them regarding this topic.
The activities of the workshop concluded with a speech of thanks by the Director of the Center to everyone who participated and attended and honored the efforts of the lecturers with certificates of appreciation in appreciation of their efforts in making this workshop a success.
