The Department of Chemical Engineering at the College of Engineering at the University of Baghdad organized a scientific seminar for graduate students (PhD) in the preparatory year. The seminar was held under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Wadud Taher Muhammad and Assistant Professor Dr. Rasha Habib Salman and in the presence of a group of professors of the department and graduate students.
The seminar aimed to raise the scientific level of students and train them on academic presentation skills and present scientific material systematically and accurately, as well as shed light on recent developments in the field of two-phase flow, which is one of the advanced and basic topics in graduate studies in the Department of Chemical Engineering.
The seminar dealt with several important scientific axes, including:
Factors affect the behavior of drop flow.
Two Phase Flow through porous.
Slug Flow and its impact on Industrial applications.
Extraction of bioproducts using aqueous two-phase system.
Factors affect the behavior of bubble flow.
Two phase flow in vertical flow.
Two phase flow in inclined tube.
The importance of biphasic flux comes from its wide applications in the oil and gas industries, petrochemical industries, the energy industry such as nuclear reactors as well as the food industry, understanding the interactions between different phases and clarifying flow characteristics such as speed, density and coefficient of friction, which contributes to the development and improvement of performance in industrial processes.
