A workshop on (drugs and public health) was held at the College of Agricultural Engineering Sciences at the University of Baghdad, in which the assistant teacher Sabah Prism Mutaab lectured in the presence of a number of professors and students at the college.
The workshop aimed at the need to protect individuals from the danger of addiction and its devastating effects and the social and economic effects of addiction, as well as awareness and intensifying continuous awareness campaigns in schools, universities, and various institutions.
The workshop recommended the need to develop comprehensive curricula dealing with the subject of drugs and their effects at various educational levels, as well as the establishment of hotlines to provide counseling and psychological support to addicts and their families and activating the role of mosques and churches in spreading religious awareness of the harms of drugs.
