The College of Medicine at the University of Baghdad organized a training workshop titled “Surgical Aspects of Deep Brain Stimulation: Current Advances,” with the participation of a distinguished group of neurosurgeons and specialists in functional surgery.
The workshop focused on the latest advancements in Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) technology, highlighting cutting-edge tools and advanced software used in the treatment of movement disorders and epilepsy. The event included scientific lectures and live demonstrations of advanced DBS techniques, presented by leading global companies in the field. Recent applications were showcased, including directional electrodes, independent current control systems, and innovative device programming techniques for the treatment of complex epilepsy cases.
The workshop was aimed at senior neurosurgeons with an interest in functional surgery, as well as neurosurgery board candidates, to enhance their knowledge and skills in managing refractory neurological conditions using the latest technologies.
