The College of Arts, University of Baghdad, in coordination with the Ministry of Interior, Department of Relations – Department of Theater, held an artistic awareness workshop “The dangers of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances on Iraqi society” in the presence of a number of professors and employees.
Prof. Dr. Rasoul Mutlaq Mohammed from the Department of Sociology and Dr. Ithmar Al-Rubaie, Head of the Women’s Affairs Unit, lectured in the presence of a delegation from the Ministry of Interior, Captain Amthal Jabbar Abdul Khaliq, Commissioner Abdul Jabbar Hussein, and employee Qassim Hussein Jassim.
The workshop aimed to familiarize the participants, including students, graduate students, professors, teachers, and some employees, with the dangers of abuse on the individual, society, and family.
As well as introducing the paragraphs of the Law on Combating Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances No. 50 of 2014 and introducing its preventive role and security treatment to the Ministry of Interior through therapeutic clinics and community efforts to educate the community about the dangers of this dangerous scourge.
