A ministerial team from the National Monitoring Department and the Department of Scientific Research and Development and the National Intelligence and National Security Agency has visited the Department of Chemical Engineering at the College of Engineering to inspect the safety and prevention measures taken by the college in relation to laboratories. They also followed-up the storage of acute chemical materials in a safe inventory so as to ensure the application of regulatory requirements and regulations regarding the circulation and storage of such chemicals and provide safety measures including fire extinguishers, emergency doors and methods of disposal of chemical waste.

The team stressed the need to get rid of redundant chemicals, and met with supervisors, laboratory officials, the chemical store official and members of the chemical, biological and radiological & nuclear safety and security committee (CBRN) at the college under the supervision of the dean of the college Prof. Dr. Saba Jabbar Neima. In conclusion, the visiting team praised the concerted efforts at the department in particular in the public interest to maintain the safety of the workers and the security of the working environment.
