Assist. Prof. Dr. Saba Hussein Mawla, a faculty member at the center for women’s studies has participated in the second meeting of Baghdad Forum for Women’s Empowerment held in cooperation with Beit al-Hikma Foundation that included discussing several topics, including the political, economic, social and cultural axes. Dr. Saba Hussein presented a research paper entitled “Mechanisms for activating women’s participation in political work” in which she talked about measuring the development of societies and the development of the standards of democracy in society through women’s participation in political life. She also noted in her research that Iraqi women have honorable stops in the record of political, economic and social events that have passed through the history of the Iraqi state since such participation is considered as a fundamental principle of the development of society.
