The Center for Market Research and Consumer Protection at the University of Baghdad held a seminar entitled (Measuring fluoride levels in water bottles) presented by the head of Research and Studies Department, Assist. Prof. Dr. Aliaa Saadoon Abdul Razzaq. She addressed a research experiment carried out at the center on water bottles and pointed out that fluoride added to fresh drinking water has health harms more than its benefit, as the reason for adding it to water is because the secret of white teeth lies in the fluoride added to drinking water and toothpaste.
The researcher also showed that there is realistic and growing evidence to suggest that fluorine can cause bone necrosis, skeletal mass problems, symptoms of arthritis and brain diseases such as dementia, hypothyroidism, cancer and overuse can cause hypothyroidism. At the end of the seminar, the researcher recommended the possibility of reducing exposure to fluorine through the use of a filter and resorting to breastfeeding because artificial milk contains more than 100 to 200 times more than fluoride found in breast milk and the need to eat more organic food to ensure having vitamins and mineral salts as well as reduce the consumption of canned fruit juices or soft drinks since they are mostly made of fluoridated water.
