The Department of Biology, in collaboration with the Continuing Education Unit at the College of Science, has organized a scientific lecture entitled “The problem of treating burns contaminated with antibiotic-resistant bacteria” in the presence of a number of students, researchers and medical professionals in the field of treatment of burn injuries.
The lecture aimed to identify the possibility of experimental use of nano polyhydroxy butare in the treatment of burn infections contaminated with antibiotic-resistant bacteria since several laboratory experiments proved the effectiveness of the nano polyhydroxy butyrate in treatment of experimental burns. The lecture was presented by Assist. Prof. Dr. Ibrahim Jabir who gave an overview on the burns causing damage to body tissues and the use of polyhydroxy butyrate as a nano antibacterial acid and it is a vital and non-toxic substance to the living cells.
