The dean of the college of science at the University of Baghdad, Prof. Dr. Abdul Karim al-Qazzaz, has opened up its 5th Astronomical Products Exhibition, which was held by the Department of Astronomy and Space in cooperation with the Scientific Care Department at the Ministry of Youth and Sports, in the presence of a number of professors, researchers, students and specialists in photographic images and amateurs. The exhibition aimed to answer many questions asked by students and researchers about the secrets of this science and revealing many scientific discoveries dazzling with advanced images and how to use some devices in photography.
The exhibition included discussions on rare disciplines that keep pace with the world, especially after Iraq’s accession to the International Federation of Astronomy and a review of the most important activities in monitoring and capturing images of celestial bodies by modern telescopes, in addition to depicting most of objects or astronomical events, follow-up of sun spots, solar eclipses, lunar eclipse, images of planets, stars, comets, meteor showers and many distant sky objects such as star clusters, galaxies and nebulae.
