The College of Media at the University of Baghdad has organized a lecture entitled (Writing sports reports for Iraqi, Arab and foreign satellite channels) as part of a series of training students, delivered by the correspondent of the Iraqi sports channel Prof. Ali Hamidi. The lecture included a presentation of a series of reports of Iraqi, Arab and foreign Satellite Channels speaking Arabic, to clarify the indicators of strength and weakness in them and to identify the most prominent sports treatments.
Then the lecturer dealt with the elements of writing the report in terms of language, clarity, ease and stay away from repetition, deleting words that do not serve the subject of the report, acts that are not known to the perpetrator, phrases used repeatedly and have become consumed meaning, and what is known as “clichés”, and it is necessary for the author to clarify the abbreviations in the sports report, especially those that most readers do not know.
