The presidency of the University of Baghdad has launched a major vaccination campaign against Covid-19 pandemic at its health center where the rector Prof. Dr. Munir Hamid al-Saadi stressed the significance of this initiative in light of the current widespread of the Delta Variant around the world, the lack of oxygen in hospitals, as well as the increasing number of infected people in quarantine facilities, so he urges all members and students of the University of Baghdad to get the vaccinate as soon as possible to preserve public health and safety, especially in preparation of the next school year.
Assist. Prof. Dr. Adel Abdul Razzaq, the director of the department of media and public relations has praised during his speech all the sincere efforts exerted by the concerned to facilitate procedures for all people to get vaccinated. For his part, the director of the university’s health center Prof. Amir al-Ameri stated that 60 doses of vaccines were being provided on the first day of this campaign and the vaccination rate is increasing day after day, confirming that the vaccines are safe and given under the supervision of the World Health Organization in coordination with the ministry of health and environment and its departments in Iraq. It is noteworthy that several members of the university’s presidency have being vaccinated for reducing the spread of infection collectively.
