The college of fine arts at the University of Baghdad concluded the events of the 34rd session of the international film and television festival organized by the department of cinema and television arts with the participation of more than 25 Arab and foreign films and more than 100 student films.
Dean of the college, Prof. Dr. Raad Abdul Jabbar Thamer stated during the concluding statement that this festival witnessed the emergence of technical recruitment in the field of photography, editing and animation in movies characterized with realist or impressionist style especially that performed and directed by students.
At the conclusion of this artistic event, awards were given to the winning film makers where the film named (The Shoot) presented by the student “Abbas Hashim” was awarded with the golden prize and the film named (Document) by the student “Mohammed Ali al-Ghadban” won the silver prize. It is noteworthy that this ceremony received a wide interest and an active presence of artists, directors, academic personalities in addition to a number of reporters of satellite channels and newspapers to convey this distinguished event.
