A number of professors from the department of statistics at the college of administration and economics at University of Baghdad participated in the 6th International Scientific Conference of the Union of Arab Statisticians held in Amman, Jordan under the slogan “Harmony of statistics and technology towards a sustainable development” in the presence of a number of ministers and officials from various countries and international organizations with the support of a number of Arab and international actors where (54) papers out of (127) presented papers were discussed at this event. The sessions addressed matters related to administrative data and population statistics as well as prospects of how to keep abreast of global scientific and technological development. The conference reached a number of recommendations, the most important of which is the need to employ statistical expertise in the development of Arab societies and decision-making in economic sectors, sustainable development, needs to guide and support practical and applied research that contribute to the development of successful solutions to real problems in society and secure a decent life for future generations and encourage researchers.
