Department of petroleum engineering at the university of Baghdad organized a big celebration on the occasion of the graduation of the 56th session entitled “black gold”. Dean of the college, prof. Dr. Ahmed Abdul Saheb, delivered a speech at the opening ceremony, stating “I wish the graduates of petroleum engineering department good fortune and success in their future to be entrusted the economic wealth and petroleum in Iraq”, recommending them to regard home as their responsibility so that to give a good impression about the college of engineering in Iraq hosted by the mother university.
Then the head of department, assistant professor Dr. Nada Sabah al-Zubeidi gave her speech expressing the pleasure and congratulation of the faculty for the graduation of students stating that “today you arrived at your first field work to serve your country and respect the meaning and value of engineering in construction and technology, so congratulations to you despite the exceptional circumstances faced in country, you should be proud and contribute in building and reconstruction of Iraq”. Head of department concluded her speech recommending the graduate students to bear in mind experience and dedication to work to contribute in the progress of oil industry in Iraq where the economy depends on oil production and selling, stressing that the country needs these experiences that require hard, successful and sincere work. The celebration included reciting poems by the students, a number of art and cultural events, granting awards to the distinguished graduates in the presence of their families and friends.
