Under the patronage of His Excellency, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naim Al-Aboudi, and the supervision of the rector of the University of Baghdad, Prof. Dr. Munir Hamid al-Saadi, the college of medicine has organized a majestic ceremony of the graduation of the 91st session of the medical students to recite the Hippocratic Oath on Thursday, December 2022. This event witnessed the presence of the Minister of Health, Prof. Dr. Saleh Mahdi Al-Hasnawi, the directors general of the Ministry of Health and the General directorate of the Medical City, the President of the Iraqi Council for Medical Specializations, the deans of medical colleges, the President of the Syndicate of Iraqi Pharmacists, and a group of professors, graduates and their families.
At the ceremony, a speech was delivered by His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education, in which he stressed the commitment to the quality of education and the completion of the requirements of international accreditation, and explained that the ministry has faced and responded seriously with the challenges and the quantitative indicators of the number of students coming from secondary schools to provide them with an organized environment to compete their medical study. Many of the guests present at this joyful festival also congratulated the deanship of the college of medicine and faculty members on this occasion wishing the new doctors a successful career in the service of their people and country.
The ceremony included several theatrical performances and documentary films about the eternal march of the mother of medical colleges and the comprehensive reconstruction campaigns it is witnessing for its infrastructure. The activities of the ceremony concluded then with the recitation of the medical oath by the dean of the college of medicine, Assist. Prof. Dr. Amin Abdul Hassan Manea Al-Alwani, repeated by the graduate students, and the recitation of the resolution of granting the certificate order by the Director of Registration, Dr. Samara Muwaffaq Ali, then distributing gifts to the top graduates. On the sidelines of the ceremony, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research inaugurated a number of buildings, smart halls and clinical skills laboratories that have been completed and rehabilitated within the urban campaign initiated previously, and held a meeting with the members of the college’s council.
