Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, conducted a field visit to assess the academic environment at the University of Baghdad. His tour included the College of Excellence and the College of Artificial Intelligence, where he reviewed the progress of undergraduate studies for the academic year 2025–2026, as well as the trajectory of postgraduate programs.
During his meeting with faculty members and students, Dr. Al-Aboudi emphasized the importance of providing the necessary support to ensure the smooth operation of the educational process and the creation of a comprehensive university environment that meets the demands of the current phase. He also underscored the need to advance academic programs in emerging disciplines to keep pace with global scientific developments in the fields of artificial intelligence and innovation.
The Minister commended the efforts of the deanships of both colleges and the university departments in providing administrative and technical requirements. He called for continued efforts to strengthen rigorous scientific research and expand international cooperation, contributing to the enhancement of higher education standards and reinforcing the global standing of Iraqi universities.
This initiative aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 4, which advocates for quality education, and Goal 17, which promotes partnerships to achieve these objectives.
