Baghdad University has inaugurated the activities of Global Entrepreneurship Week, attended by Professor Dr. Raghad Abdul Razzaq Al-Hashemi, Assistant President of Baghdad University for Administrative Affairs and acting head of the university, along with the deans of the Colleges of Excellence, Artificial Intelligence, and Science for Women, as well as a number of students and faculty members.
The organization of these events reflects the university’s commitment to fostering innovation and strengthening a culture of entrepreneurship and creativity among students and researchers. It also aims to create a stimulating academic environment for entrepreneurial ideas and creative projects that contribute to community service and sustainable development.
The week’s program includes a variety of scientific and educational activities, exhibitions, and specialized workshops designed to develop students’ skills in innovation and entrepreneurship, while familiarizing them with mechanisms for transforming ideas into practical, implementable projects.
The Entrepreneurship and Innovation Week is held under the slogan: “From the Land of Mesopotamia… Ideas Take Flight” and with the hashtags: #YourIdeaIsIraqi – #IraqInnovates, underscoring the role of Iraqi universities in nurturing young talent and supporting pathways of creativity and innovation.
This initiative advances several Sustainable Development Goals, notably Goal 4 (Quality Education), Goal 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure), and Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
