The University of Baghdad Council convened its second session for the 2025–2026 academic year, chaired by Professor Dr. Bahaa Ibraheem Ansaf, President of the University. The session addressed a range of academic and administrative issues aimed at improving university performance and elevating the educational environment.

At the outset of the meeting, the Council underscored the importance of monitoring student registration on the Iraqi Higher Education Platform (HEPIQ), clarifying that student attendance and all educational and administrative services related to their affairs will be managed through advanced systems integrated within the platform. Deans of colleges and institutes will oversee direct implementation.

The Council also stressed the need to maintain the integrity and neutrality of the academic environment, and to avoid using university activities in ways that may compromise its sanctity, in accordance with the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and the Federal Integrity Commission.

The session’s outcomes included directives to provide the necessary resources for welcoming undergraduate students, as well as instructions requiring deans of university units to respond promptly to official correspondence within designated timeframes—particularly regarding the nomination of faculty members and staff for participation in external programs and conferences.

The Council concluded its session by discussing the items listed on its agenda, reaffirming the importance of continued coordination among university units to ensure procedural fluidity and the achievement of the university’s strategic objectives.

These efforts contribute to several Sustainable Development Goals, notably Goal 4 (Quality Education), Goal 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), and Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
