As part of completing the administrative structure of the new colleges at the University of Baghdad, and based on ministerial orders issued by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Prof.Dr. Bahaa Ibraheem Ansaf, President of the University of Baghdad, issued the university decree assigning Prof.Dr. Dhia Jasim Kazem as Dean of the College of Artificial Intelligence and Prof.Dr. Ali Hussein Ali as Dean of the College of Excellence.
The decrees were formally presented by the University President along with his scientific and administrative deputies during an official ceremony held at the University Presidency. The meeting highlighted the significance of the upcoming stage in supporting the academic and administrative trajectories of these two pioneering colleges, which align with the orientations of the Ministry of Higher Education and the University of Baghdad in expanding knowledge and advancing technology.
In his remarks, the University President expressed his full support for the newly appointed administrations, praising the scientific and administrative competencies of the two deans, and stressing the importance of launching well-studied action plans that contribute to achieving academic goals and providing a modern educational environment that meets the requirements of contemporary education.
He also extended his deep appreciation to His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naim Al-Aboudi, for his continued and direct support to the two new colleges and the University of Baghdad, affirming that such support represents a cornerstone in strengthening the institutional framework of higher education in Iraq and reflects a clear vision toward establishing specialized colleges that meet future needs and keep pace with scientific and technological developments.
This assignment marks an essential step in activating the work of the Colleges of Excellence and Artificial Intelligence, paving the way for the launch of the new academic year in line with the University of Baghdad’s and the Ministry’s vision of leadership and innovation.
Moreover, this activity contributes to achieving two of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): Goal 4 (Quality Education), and Goal 17 ( Partnerships for the Goals).
