The University of Baghdad took part in the closing ceremony of the international development program for directors of student activities, held at the Peoples’ Friendship University in the Russian Federation, with the attendance of prominent official and academic figures.
This participation came as part of a training program organized by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in cooperation with the host university, aimed at enhancing international cooperation and developing university staff in the field of student activities.
The closing ceremony included the distribution of certificates to participants from various Iraqi universities, with the presence of the Iraqi Cultural Attaché in Russia, Prof.Dr. Nader Jasem Mohammed, who praised the role of such programs in advancing student engagement in higher education institutions.
The program brought together more than 50 directors and representatives from student activities departments across Iraqi universities. It featured both theoretical and practical lectures delivered by a group of international experts in the fields of management and organization of university sports tournaments and festivals, in addition to enhancing the participants’ technical and administrative skills.
This participation reflects the University of Baghdad’s ongoing efforts to develop its academic staff and engage with international expertise in support of its academic and student-centered mission. Moreover, this initiative aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals, specifically Goal 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, and Goal 17: Partnerships for the Goals.
