The University of Baghdad Council convened its 24th open session for the 2024–2025 academic year, chaired by Prof.Dr. Bahaa Ibraheem Ansaf, President of the University Council, and attended by the deans of the university’s constituent colleges. The session focused on monitoring the progress of the educational process and discussing several administrative and academic matters.
At the outset, the Council commended the substantial efforts made by the university’s formations deans, faculty, and staff which led to the successful completion of the academic year 2024–2025 and the administration of final examinations. The Council also praised the role of the university in hosting the national sixth-grade preparatory exams.
The Council emphasized the importance of organizing staff duties during the summer break, directing all deans to submit official assignment requests to ensure the continuity of academic and administrative functions. It also stressed the need to verify information shared on social media platforms and to rely solely on official sources to avoid the spread of misinformation.
In a related context, the Council discussed the importance of advancing academic work, calling on all university formations to finalize faculty members’ specializations and to coordinate with the Department of Studies and Planning at the university presidency for verification and approval procedures. Furthermore, the Council encouraged the utilization of creative artistic talents within the university’s colleges to enhance the campus environment with artistic works that reflect the university’s distinguished reputation and academic stature.
The session concluded with a review of several items on the agenda, in line with the university’s plans to improve educational quality and achieve its strategic goals.
This session contributes to several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including Goal 4: Quality Education, Goal 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, and Goal 17: Partnerships for the Goals.
