The President of the University of Baghdad, Prof.Dr. Bahaa Ibraheem Ansaf, conducted a field tour, accompanied by members of the University Council, to review the final stages of construction and preparation at the Colleges of Excellence and Artificial Intelligence. These colleges represent a qualitative leap in the academic and technological structure of the university, aligning with global transformations in the fields of technology and innovation.
During the tour, the President emphasized that “These two colleges have emerged from the venerable University of Baghdad to take shape today as a new academic entity that meets the demands of the modern era in terms of specializations, curricula, and the educational environment.” He also pointed out that the colleges would offer contemporary scientific programs in line with global trends in artificial intelligence and digital transformation, under the supervision of a distinguished group of professors.
The tour included visits to the classrooms and scientific laboratories, which will be equipped with the latest educational and research technologies. The facilities of the colleges have been designed in a way that aligns with sustainable development goals, incorporating smart infrastructure, integrated technical services, and environmentally friendly provisions.
The President of the University stressed that the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the University of Baghdad are keen to make the upcoming academic year the official start for receiving the first cohort of students in the two colleges. He further noted that all efforts are being directed toward ensuring the readiness of the buildings, curricula, and academic staff.
This initiative aligns with several sustainable development goals, notably Goal 4 (Quality Education), Goal 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), and Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
