During its 22nd open session for the 2024-2025 academic year, the Baghdad University Council issued several important directives aimed at ensuring the success of examinations and creating a suitable environment for students.
The Council’s President, Professor Dr. Baha Ibraheem Ansaf, emphasized the importance of college deans closely overseeing first-round exams for first-year students. He stressed the need to provide all necessary resources to facilitate an organized and smooth examination process, given the significance of this phase in students’ academic journeys.
Additionally, the Council instructed university divisions to submit final exam schedules for postgraduate students in the second semester of the 2024-2025 academic year to the Graduate Studies Department at the university presidency. This measure is intended to ensure proper coordination and organization across departments.
To enhance campus safety, the Council’s President called for field reports on security and safety measures during the Eid Al-Adha holiday to be submitted to the Assistant President for Administrative Affairs. Furthermore, administrative orders regarding committees formed for this purpose should also be shared with the office.
The meeting also included a directive to promote a culture of volunteerism among students and staff across all university divisions. This initiative aims to strengthen a sense of cooperation, belonging, and social responsibility within the academic community.
Finally, the Council urged college deans to conduct field visits to student dormitories to assess their conditions and identify any needs during the Eid and summer vacations. This effort seeks to ensure a comfortable and secure living environment that prioritizes students’ well-being.
This initiative aligns with Sustainable Development Goals, specifically Goal 4: Quality Education and Goal 17: Partnerships for the Goals.
