The 57th session of the General Conference of the Association of Arab Universities has officially commenced at the International University in the State of Kuwait, with broad participation from university presidents, experts, and academics representing various Arab countries. This major academic event serves as one of the most prominent platforms dedicated to enhancing cooperation and the exchange of expertise among higher education institutions in the Arab world.

The conference provides an annual opportunity to address the current challenges facing the university education sector and to explore prospects for development amid rapidly evolving global changes, particularly in the fields of technology and artificial intelligence.

Prof.Dr. Bahaa Ibraheem Ansaf, President of the University of Baghdad, expressed his pride in representing the “Mother University” at this significant gathering. He noted that the University of Baghdad had previously presided over the 56th session of the conference and emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts in addressing the challenges posed by accelerated transformations especially those related to artificial intelligence.

The agenda of this session includes key topics such as the development of quality standards and academic accreditation, innovation in education, the expansion of research partnerships, and the role of universities in serving local communities. The conference will also feature the signing of several bilateral agreements between participating universities, along with specialized workshops aimed at enhancing the capabilities of academic and administrative staff across Arab universities.

This participation contributes to the achievement of two Sustainable Development Goals: Goal 4, which calls for quality education, and Goal 17, which promotes partnerships for the goals.
