The University of Baghdad hosted the workshop of the Scientific Supervision and Evaluation Authority at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, for the Quality Assurance Council for the Bologna Process, in the presence of representatives of Iraqi universities and a number of experts and specialized academics.
The workshop aimed to discuss ways to enhance the quality of higher education in Iraq by the standards of the Bologna process, which contributes to harmonizing academic programs with European standards, in order to achieve international recognition of Iraqi certificates.
The workshop dealt with several topics, including evaluating academic performance, institutional accreditation mechanisms, and improving education outcomes in line with the needs of the labor market, and the workshop also witnessed presentations and discussions on best practices in applying the Bologna process in Iraqi universities, in a way that enhances the competitiveness of higher education in the country.
The participants stressed the importance of adopting modern strategies for quality assurance and academic accreditation, stressing the need for cooperation between universities and stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation of this system.
This workshop is part of a series of events organized by the Ministry of Higher Education to support the efforts to develop higher education in Iraq by international standards, which reflects the Ministry’s commitment to achieving academic excellence and enhancing the status of Iraqi universities at the regional and international levels.
This activity achieves one of the sustainable development goals represented by the fourth goal, which calls for quality education.
