The President of the University of Baghdad, Prof.Dr. Bahaa Ibraheem Ansaf, honored the Departments of Home Economics and Childhood Education at the College of Education for Women during a University Council meeting. These departments achieved first place in the 2023 Iraqi university rankings, as published by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
The ranking was based on several criteria, including program accreditation, curriculum quality, the student-to-faculty ratio, and the departments’ standings in global rankings. In addition, the Dean of the College, Assist.Prof.Dr.Athmar Shaker Majid Al-Shatari, was commended for her scholarly efforts in leading the Departments of Home Economics and Childhood Education to this top position.
The University has made significant progress by increasing the number of departments that achieved first place, meeting program accreditation requirements, and implementing quality standards. This progress highlights both strengths and areas for improvement, leading to the development of an updated annual improvement plan.
In turn, the Dean of the College noted that the college’s departments are committed to achieving academic excellence and securing a prestigious position in higher education.
