The College of Education for Women at the University of Baghdad has secured first place among the university’s faculties in volunteer work, scouting activities, and student engagement, according to the annual performance evaluation results for the academic year 2023-2024, as announced by the University of Baghdad.
This achievement reflects the college’s local successes, its commitment to fostering a sense of belonging and citizenship, and its efforts to harness human and social potential. Under the leadership of the Dean, Assist.Prof.Dr. Athmar Shaker Majid Al-Shatari, the College of Education for Women has focused on service-oriented initiatives, including volunteering and humanitarian efforts. These initiatives have provided support to orphanages and elderly care homes in Baghdad, in addition to offering food and household assistance to students residing in dormitories and organizing collective iftar meals for female students, which involved the participation of several faculty members and staff.
The Dean emphasized that the active involvement of faculty, staff, and students in volunteer work, humanitarian initiatives, and student activities was a key factor in the college’s attainment of the first-place ranking for the academic year 2023-2024.
