Prof.Dr. Raghad Abdulrazzaq Al-Hashimi, Dean of the College of Dentistry at the University of Baghdad, chaired a meeting of the Deans of Dental Colleges in Iraq. During the meeting, several issues related to academic development, ways to enhance the quality of education and scientific research, and the expansion of international partnerships were discussed.
The meeting addressed the establishment of minimum requirements for clinical practice across all clinical specialties, the performance level of private colleges in evaluation exams, investment in scientific research and its role in economic development, and the timelines for summer training for final-year students. Additionally, the meeting reviewed the process for equivalency of non-Iraqi certification exams and the associated subjects.
Decisions were made during the meeting to strengthen cooperation between the colleges and achieve future aspirations to improve the quality of higher education in the field of dentistry. These efforts are part of a commitment to enhancing the quality of education and research and ensuring the excellence of Iraqi colleges in this vital field, contributing to the improvement of healthcare services provided to the community.
