Prof.Dr. Ghassan Hameed Abdelmajid, the Dean of the College of Engineering at the University of Baghdad, welcomed a representative from Shanghai Electric, China. The visit aimed to strengthen collaboration between the College of Engineering and Shanghai Electric by providing job and training opportunities for students, thereby enhancing their skills and increasing their employment prospects in both local and international markets.
The meeting included a comprehensive introduction to Shanghai Electric and the services it provides in Iraq. The company presented its capabilities and expertise in the fields of energy, electricity, and mechanics. Both parties discussed potential ways for collaboration, with the Chinese company expressing its willingness to employ graduates from the college and offer training programs for students in the final stages of their studies in the departments of electricity, mechanics, and energy.
The meeting concluded with an agreement to establish a foundation for ongoing cooperation between the company and the college, which will contribute to developing students’ skills and preparing them for the job market. Another meeting is planned to detail the areas of cooperation and achieve the mutual goals of both parties.
