The Center for the Revival of Arab Scientific Heritage at the University of Baghdad has organized a panel discussion entitled (Arabic Calligraphy Engraved on Ceramic Tiles at Al-Kadhimayn Holy Shrine) delivered by Assist. Lecturer Imtithal Kazim Sarhan.

She pointed out that this Holy Shrine is one of the most important holy thresholds in the Islamic world and comes after the Holy Alawite Shrine where Muslims from all over the world go to it, and added that the Islamic style of the Kadhimiya Shrine has great importance in terms of consistency that is manifested in the windows, domes and minarets. The lecturer talked about the importance of Arabic calligraphy in religious writings represented by Qur’anic surahs, prophetic hadiths, the names of Allah, and the names of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them), and the writings shall be in the third script on tiles that may be either in Qashani or Karbalai script.
