The Central Division for Academic Promotions Affairs at the Presidency of the University of Baghdad organized a specialized workshop titled “Central Electronic System for Academic Promotions.” The session was presented by Professor Dr. Mohsen Abdullah Al-Shammari, Head of the Division, and attended by a number of faculty members and researchers from various university units.

The workshop aimed to clarify the mechanism for processing and electronically tracking academic promotion applications, with an emphasis on adhering to the precise procedures and standards set by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

Several key topics were addressed, including electronic documentation of research, identification of research pathways for both general and specialized disciplines, and adetailed explanation of the steps for submitting promotion applications for faculty members across the university’s colleges and departments.

The workshop also emphasized the importance of adhering to ministerial guidelines related to scientific publishing, particularly in verifying accredited journals and avoiding predatory and counterfeit publications. These measures contribute to strengthening academic rigor and safeguarding the research efforts of faculty members.

This initiative supports the Sustainable Development Goals, specifically Goal 4, which advocates for quality education, and Goal 17, which promotes partnerships to achieve the goals.
