The minister of higher education announces a plan for housing the university professors and members in all Iraqi provinces

His excellency the minister of higher education and scientific research Ali al-Adeeb announced that the ministry embarked on the application of a broad plan for housing the university professors and members, stressing on the establishment of fraternity housing complex near Baghdad international airport which includes 10 thousand housing units that will be followed by the establishment of similar qualified complexes to accommodate the large numbers of professors and members of the university. Al-Adeeb said while attending a ceremony held at the university of Baghdad on the occasion of the start of the implementation of the brotherhood housing project said that the ministry is taking into consideration the geographical expansion of the higher education sector and it will start soon with a project to set up new headquarters for Mustansiriya university in the area of ​​Husseiniya after acquisition of an area of ​​2000 acres which would be an integrated college town and indicated also that the final designs for the university of Sumer in the district of Al-Rifai and the university of oil and gas in Basra and Diyala have completed. The brotherhood project includes primarily 10 000 housing units, 6000 of them will be established now while 4000 units would be established in future stages, containing schools, health centers, commercial centers, playgrounds, parks and other facilities to enhance the creation of an academic homogeneous community within one geographical area. He explained that the ministry is working to contribute to solve the housing crisis through the creation of suitable housing complexes containing all requirements of a decent living. The ceremony included playing a symphony track by students of the department of musical arts at the faculty of fine arts at the university of Baghdad and resenting a film about the stages of implementation of the brotherhood project where the minister Ali al-Adeeb laid the foundation stone on Tuesday, 14/01/2014 for the largest housing complex for the employees of the ministry of higher education in Baghdad with a capacity of 6000 residential units of various sizes.
